Dr Stephen Bull is currently Curator of Military History and Archaeology at Lancashire County Museums in the UK.  He has previously worked in London, at the National Army Museum and the BBC, and has lectured at various North West universities including Lancaster and Edge Hill, and is an external examiner for the University of Central Lancashire. His television and radio appearances include Battlefield Detectives, shown in the US and UK; Postcards, with Russell Grant; Lost Treasures, with Mark Olly, and numerous news and current affairs productions on both BBC and ITV channels. He has also made a number of short films for museum and gallery use, working at various times with a wide variety of artists and directors including Robert Powell, Ken Dodd, and Derek Massey. Exhibitions curated include Images of the American West ; Battle of the Somme ; Nor Iron Bars, and Volunteers. Stephen attended University College Swansea, University of Wales, where his PhD study on ordnance in the English Civil Wars was supervised by Renaissance scholar Professor Sydney Anglo, and examined by the late Sir John Hale. He has since obtained an MBA . In 2004 he was elected a Member of the Institute of Field Archaeologists. The author of over 30 books and many articles on military, historical, and archaeological subjects published in the UK and US, his work has been translated into various languages including Dutch, Polish, and Hungarian.
